read & download Rain Wilds Chronicles Rain Wild Chronicles #1 4 Rain Wilds Chronicles Rain Wild Chronicles #1 4 free read ✓ 109 Get all four novels in Robin Hobb's The Rain Wilds Chronicles in one e book including Dragon Keeper Dragon Haven City of Dragons. The Rain Wild ChroniclesAn interesting series built upon in the Realm of the Elderlings where several books series have taken place so far this one was set in the land of the Rain Wilds a place of magic and fantasy where many strange things occur and the unexpected may actually be expectedUnfortunately the unexpected just didn t really happen Having read previous books written by Robin Hobb my expectations for this series were set far too high I think for where the other series such as the Farseer Trilogy gave us a memorable character written so well and where the world was built upon in such a way it just did not happen in this seriesThe Rain Wilds have been mentioned in many books within this fictional world leaving one to expect a great place full of fantastical elements yet instead we were stuck reading about uarreling shipmates and folk who could not find something better to do with their time trapped within the pages of a bookIt seems like partway through the author ran out of plot and just kept going with the original premise meaning that the story was carried on through four novels when it could have been over in one Yet there were four books and it was not until the final one in which interesting stuff began to happenI get that there are stories that are plot driven and some character driven but even so it needed plot The characters were simply going on with life rather than doing anything outstanding and it really made up for a boring series of novels I found it hard to sympathize with any of the characters and immensely disliked most of them because they were constantly doing stupid stuff or were just so irritating in personality that if I ever met them in real life I would probably want to slap them across the face with a book and tell them what imbeciles they areThe romance was pathetic and annoying And just plain gross This is a fantasy series I do not want to be reading about people sleeping around I know that it is to be expected now days of almost every adult book but it does not make it any less irritating Why not just have a strong character or that they like each other but without having to have explicit love scenes that make it just like any other book these daysAnd of course spouses cheating on each other Really Yet another book Does everyone have to cheat on each other these daysToo many points of view that were not really needed at all to tell the story and everyone s point of view was so similar in the way it was told and the characters acted that it could have really been from a single character s point of view and you would have barely noticed the differenceAnd then you have dragons who have their own point of view well now if perhaps the dragons did not sound like humans most of the time then that would have been fine But these ones were just pathetic for dragons and again boring The dragons act like spoiled children than anything else when in fact they should be wild creatures causing chaos okay so they eat a few people here and there perhaps destroy a village But nothing epic in a way that it stands out and makes you think Wow I like that dragonThe series in all was incredibly long winded and just seemed to go on and on and on almost as though it would never end when in reality it only took me less that a day to read all four books For the first three books I spent a long time wonders why I was even bothing to read them They simply annoyed me and bored me so much I was struggling not to fall asleep as I read them It was not until the fourth book that anything exciting really seemed to happen and even then it was a bit of a letdown The ending was even disappointing It seems almost as if the author has lost her spark when it comes to writing compared to other works by her in the past And this I have seen in many writers when they have written too many books and run out of new and original ideas it leaves their new work lacking and disappointing even when they have a great idea for a plot and even for those who are the most brilliant writers can fall prey to this mistakeI feel there could have been so much done with this storyline and so many plot twists to make it interesting Half of the characters could have been removed and it would have made the book twice as interesting However despite my list of complaints this series was better written than a good deal of fantasy books these days and had a lot of detail to it I personally would have preferred depth to the characters and world building but as far as fantasy goes it was not entirely bad it just was not that great either The Crooked Computer place so far this one was set in the land of the Rain Wilds a Kissing Midnight place of magic and fantasy where many
